NUNCEY

Our family could not be more complete then the day we came home with Nuncey. We adopted him on April 13, 2008, and we cannot believe how perfectly he fits in. There is no doubt that he was meant for our family, and he knows it. From the moment we brought him home, he has been so loving and adjusted immediately to his new "big" sister Jinxie (our dachshund). Thank you FL Basset Rescue without you we would not have our Nuncey, and our son would not have his "little" brother.

DOODLES

ROSIE

I hope the rescue work is going well.....it sure keeps you busy, and I don't know how you can keep up with it!! Do you remember that I adopted Rosie last year, I think, in September? Well, I just had these photos taken of her and her "brother" here, and thought of you the other day, and wondered how the rescue is going....and thought I would send them, and an update on her. She is quite happy living here, it seems. She has gotten a bit "bossy" at times, and "bays" at us if we don't do what she wants fast enough!! (usually, that would be, getting her a treat, when she "demands" it!!) :-) And she sometimes runs as fast as those fat little legs will carry her, around and around the house in circles......she makes us laugh a LOT.......she has a REAL HAPPY and SPIRITED personality. I THANK YOU SO MUCH for fostering her so that we could get such a wonderful doggie. She is a GREAT dog. I hope things are going well there with you and all the bassets!
MS. BETTY

OLLIE

We adopted Ollie (known as Toby then) right before Christmas last year. As the parents of 3 previous bassets, he was the first we had adopted. What a joy he is. After settling in, fattening up, and learning the rules, he is the source of many laughs. Our Thanks to all at Basset Rescue for the wonderful work in saving the precious hounds. The first pic is on adoption day and the second is Ollie adjusting to his new bed and toys!!!

CHARLIE the Poodle

This is me, Charlie & Sunshine taking a little siesta. Another time the 3 of us were together in my living room.
Charlie always likes to snuggle with me when I sit on the couch.

CHLOE

This is Chloe, adopted a year ago this past May, in her
cowboy costume. She won first place at the Sumter County Fair and boy
did she put on a show! Is she a beauty or what? Also pictured is Chloe
with her two favorite boys, Robbie and Matthew, although she is and
always will be mama's girl! We adopted Chloe after losing our beloved
basset, Rachel, and I cannot say enough good things about Basset Rescue.
What a wonderful organization – they are amazing in all that they do and
I thank God every day for my precious Chloe. She took over the minute
she walked into our home and immediately started to heal our broken
hearts. She is Queen Bee of the Hall household and she loves her new
family as much as we love her.

B. Lucy now has a Basset brother named Bubba. Many thanks goes out to
Lyn, Lucy's foster mom while in Miami.

From being left alone for days in a garage to life
on the lanai.....Dexter has found the home he has always deserved. Loved
and adored by Karen H, Dexter was adopted from Florida Basset Rescue on
December 31, 2006. Dexter now spends his time lounging on the lanai,
walking Karen around the neighborhood and when summer comes, will be
travelling the USA in their motorhome. Congratulations Dexter and Karen!

PENELOPE
Greeting from the Sheelers in Clearwater. We
adopted Penelope (now known as Sydney) from Basset Rescue back in April.
She is doing just fine and we truly love her. She has a canine sister
named Lupin who can be seen in one of the photos. Sydney has adjusted
really well to her new home. She loves to go for rides in my husband's
truck (inside the truck of course!) Loves belly rubs and attempts to get
one whenever the oppurtunity arises. She has a bunch of small stuffed
animals that she treats like puppies. My daughter picked out a fancy
leash for her and of course she loves to go on walks. I want to
personally thank Basset Rescue for what they do. Most people can't do
what is required of a rescue group like Florida Basset Rescue. It
requires too much time, expense and sacrifice to make it work. Yet
somehow you all do it. I was humbled upon meeting Sandy in Parrish and
the couple in Odessa that is also part of you rescue alliance. Pam of
course was my contact member and we shared many emails back and forth
until adopting Sydney. Everyone was extremely helpful in navigating our
way through the adoption decision. As some of you know, we lost our
beloved Basset last May and the event was traumatizing for us as a
family. We realized upon meeting Sandy and her entourage in Parrish that
the best way we could honor Daphne, was to save another Basset just like
she was. We love Sydney and she is safe. Thank You.
Sincerely,
Daniele Sheeler

Trina C. adopted our little Sarabelle
on Friday 6/1/07. Sarabelle will have a new life, (and maybe a new name)
and not ever be confined anymore. She has a new Basset brother, Jupiter
and a new Basset sister, Bella! We know Sarabelle will enjoy this new
freedom and pampering she will receive.
